As I stated, about a month back (sorry!), I had dinner with Rob Savoye, lead developer of Gnash. Rob is a brilliant person that has real world experience in starting companies and actually implementing them! Additionally, he obviously has an impressive track record since working in OSS projects (just look at his wikipedia page). Regardless, one of our fascinating discussions dealt with properly open sourcing projects while maintaining a competitive edge. It’s been a while since I last posted anything on my blog. Since that time, I graduated highschool, matriculated into Northeastern, went on two co-ops, and started a company. Additionally, I changed hosts and stupidly forgot to take a backup of my database. That leaves me with a blank slate, but I may be able to recover some old posts. I remember that the first time I posted, I didn’t really expect much. I started around the time that Technorati just came out, TechCrunch was a brand new blog, and Google Docs was called Writely. Basically, I was reading TechCrunch and I came across this webapp called Writely and I was so excited by it, I started a blog and wrote my criticism about it. Little did I know that Jennifer Mazzon from Writely contacted me to help them about, albeit unpaid. Yet, that was the most exciting opportunity I had, especially since I was in highscool. Enough recollecting, I have way too much to live out publicly.
